House
We recieved 60 truck loads of dirt to use as fill in our backyard and we finally have at least one level place in our yard. After the hot weather passes, we will sod the back yard for instant grass. We can't wait! Now we need to finish the work on our treehouse and do the backsplash in the kitchen, Yippee!!! It seems like there is always something to do around here.
We love nature (including feeding the birds) and watching them come to our birdfeeders is wonderful. We have had a woodpecker, a family of caridnals, doves, and many other birds come to visit the feeder and bird bath. For the first time since we moved in a year and a half ago we spotted a squirrel in our yard. We were excited at first but then it got in the bird feeder, which was no big deal. Then one squirrel became two and they both started to get into the feeders and ended up knocking them down and ate all the seeds (only the ones they liked though). The rest of the seeds were just knocked onto the ground and now we have sunflowers and who knows what else growing everywhere! The squirrels are becoming pests. Tina decided she would buy a skinny wrought iron planter that is normally used to hang plants to keep the seeds safe for the birds. She brought the feeders into the screen porch area so the squirrels wouldn't knock them over or get into them until she had a chance to put up the hangers. She left and when she came back home the feeders were knocked over and seeds were everywhere inside the screened area of our porch! Then she realized she was not alone in the screened porch area. One of the little monsters had eaten a hole through the screen and was trapped inside with Tina. It was running between the poles and the screen and was so scared it was pooping everywhere. Tina was just hoping the little devil wouldn't jump on her and attack her. The squirrel ran to the other side of the porch and Tina made her move by unlocking the screen door and opening it for the squirrel to escape. She waited and waited until the squirrel finally saw her and ran to the other side of the porch. Then it realized the door was open, looked at Tina, looked outside, and made a run for it. It ran to the deck railing a flew into the woods!
Update on the squirrel: One squirrel became two squirrels which have now become four squirrels and they know how to climb up the little wrought iron pole.

Speedbump Updates
Ethan really enjoyed his trip to Louisiana and visiting with his cousins. He finally had some boys just his age to play with. For several days after we returned home he would wake up asking for his cousins by name. Ethan thinks he's a big boy now and wants to do eveything the older kids do. He was great in the car ride (all 12 hours) and didn't fuss one time!
He has been melting mom and dad's heart by telling them he loves them. He'll even say they are cute and beautiful, but don't forget Ethan is cute and beautiful too. He is awfully sweet for going through the terrible twos.
He is absolutely crazy about motorcycles (Gee, I wonder where he gets that from). He evens says uden-uden just like dad used to!
Ethan is smart, just some of the things he says and repeats is amazing.

Mark and Tina
Mark has been gearing up for a wedding in November, by perfecting his photo skills and working hard in Photoshop. He has also been working around the yard by building the retaining wall.
Tina has been teaching herself Flash and trying to keep up with the little busy body Ethan. After Flash she will complete Illustrator and learn some Photoshop tricks, since all the programs interact with one another now that Adobe owns all of them.

Family
We vsited Louisiana at the end of May for a much needed trip back home. We even got our teeth cleaned as well as visited with some friends. As always, we ate too much! We are sorry if we didn't get to see you and/or catch up with you, but time flies by when you are on vacation. St. Francisville has changed so much since we left (they are finally building a new bridge across the Mississippi so you don't have to take the ferry anymore. The ride into town looks so different now that there is a four lane highway that has taken down many of the trees that used to line the road and make St. Francisville such a picturesque town. Our old house is up for sale and many of our old neighbors are gone. Many sold their homes after we left. The highways to Baton Rouge are packed and so many new stores and restraunts are going up in Baton Rouge. We miss our family in Louisiana, but we don't miss the allergies (Mark, Tina, and Ethan all came back sick after our visit, allergies and colds and whatever else we caught there - Katrina Krud maybe).
Colby and Noah stayed an extra week with pop-pa and t and they kept them busy. They also got to see some of their old friends. Yes, our other son Walker was the first one we saw.
