Noah's New Ride
Noah has stepped up in style -- he got a new electric scooter for his birthday! Now he can travel up to 12 mph up and down the street or wherever his 1 hour charge will take him (but not without a helmet!!!) It seems like everything is powered these days. Kids don't even have to push their scooters anymore! We did however, think it was better than a go-cart. A couple of kids in the neighborhood have go-carts and the only real place to ride them is on the street. Hopefully, this is a little slower and safer. Besides, it looks like fun for the whole family! Even though Dad and Colby have their motorcycles, they can't resist sporting around downtown St Francisville and cruising through Sonic on Noah's scooter. Go to Colby and Noah's page to see more!

Phone number nightmare
Little did we know the phone number we chose in SC used to belong to a Cottman's Transmission that went out of business. You guessed it - we get between 6 and 10 calls a day from people wanting an estimate to get their transmission repaired!

The Parents
Dad got a new camera lens (Canon EF 17-40mm, f/4 L USM). It takes incredibly sharp pictures
. It's pretty amazing actually. He's also added Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Creative Suite to his digital darkroom arsenal. The next big purchase is a printer to print some of those almost 11 thousands pictures we have. Dad also has his eye on a Hasselblad medium format
film camera (just as most of us have entered the digital age, he wants to take a step back). Anyway, he says "If they were good enough to take to the moon, they're good enough for me!". If you're a foto fanatic like Mark, check out this spot for a comparison of his old lens versus new lens.

Mom is mom, just doing her thing. Mostly getting ready for school and taking care of little Speedbump!!!! We finally got our 2005 - 2006 curriculum and books in (YIPEEEE). As most, but maybe not all, of you already know Mom launched the "Escuela de Los Locos" or "The Crazy School" two years ago. As if she doesn't have enough to do already, she has taken on the incredible challenge of home schooling an 11 year old, nine year old, and now a 5 month old. What does a five month old have to learn? Plenty - we read to him daily (in Spanish and English) and are working on getting him to say his first word before six months! In addition to the three Rs, the boys will be learning Spanish, web design and publishing, photography, and Photoshop. Hopefully soon Colby and Noah will have published their own web pages designed and created 100% by them, for your reading enjoyment!!! Now you'll be able to kill time at work reading and signing all of our web pages and guest books! Check out the pictures of our new books!

Speedbump Update

This issue's cool links
Panoramic - A friend of Mark's from LSU that is currently hiking the Appalachian Trail. Check out his journal! Be sure to view all of his entries! VERY interesting!

Michelle Raper Rittenhouse - Mark's cousin and O'neill Playwright.

Ethan is 5 1/2 months old and is growing so fast. Here lately he has been just jabbering away and squealing all day and night. He has started to grab everything out of our hands and puts it straight into his mouth. We still read to him everyday as well as read to him in spanish. On the night of August 16th, his two bottom teeth broke through the gums and they are like little piranha teeth. Even still, he has brought so much delight to our home we don't know what we'd do without him!!!. See the what's new page or speedbump page for his latest pictures!

Jen's Homecoming Delayed -- NEWS FLASH Who in the world is Jen? Finally another girl in the DeMarche family. Well, Jen is actually Colby's new gal. He takes her out and holds her in his hand and he always makes sure she is taken care of. What in the world is an eleven year old doing with a gal?

Unfortunately inquiring minds will have to wait a little longer to find out. Due to a small delay her homecoming has been pushed back to the weekend of 8.28.05. However, we promise to publish an update to Issue 2 (Issue 2, Volume 2) sometime around 8.28.05. Speculation has been rampant over the last few weeks as to the identity of this elusive creature. "I can't believe no one can remember who she is!" said an incredulous Colby. Sources close to Colby and Jen have not revealed much about her, but recent internet newsgroups and chat rooms have been buzzing with rumors that she is anything and everything from a captured alien to some type of miniature, North American Loch Ness type monster!

Who is Jen??? Colby's not saying yet!!!
