Congrads to Dad DeMarche

He is finally leaving the hustle and bustle of the real world behind! On Friday, March 24th he retired. I'm sure he's not going to take it easy though. He's going to start working on his stained glass projects, and go fishing and hunting full time. It must be nice to finally put your bacon worth in (Not sure what this means, Ed.)..

The House

We are busy getting the outside of the house looking good. We had 10 yards of top soil, 10 yards of mulch and 25 yards (30 tons) of pea gravel delivered, but we are not done yet. Yes, you would think having a new home, not much would need to be done. They only put down grass seed (our yard is still mud with patches of grass) and 12 boxwood shrubs in front. So, we are landscaping again, but we should be pros by now (Louisiana took 3 years). Who knows, it might take years for perfection.

You are probably wondering about the pea gravel. We took the big playset with us when we moved, we thought it would be better than buying a new one and with Ethan we will get many more years of use. With 32 crossties around the playset, we laid down a layer of pea gravel instead of mulch so we would have better drainage. The boys helped with shoveling, raking, and taking Ethan for stroller rides while Mom and Dad worked. (Dad said he was walking the steel, that's why I did most of the shoveling.)

As you can imagine, we were moving a little slowly the next day or two. We had sore backs and shoulders from shoveling. If any of you are heading this way, we still need top soil and mulch for the back and one of the sides for the landscaping. Don't need to bring a shovel, we have one for you!
We are still waiting on furniture to be delivery and will soon work on the inside (Furniture was finally delivered March 31st). At least the boxes are in the proper rooms now.

The Family

In February, we visited Tina's Grandma in Florida and we went to Disneyworld(M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E). We spent four days walking and having fun. It's the first real family vacation we have ever taken. Between traveling back and forth between homes and visting family, we just haven't had time. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, which was really cool. We saw Mickey and rode many rides (even Ethan). It was the perfect time to go, because the crowd was very minimal.
Ethan cut two more teeth while we were at Disney. All the excitement must have made them come out!

Mom and Dad
Dad is working 3rd shift right now (6 days a week, 12 hours a day). He has also started working hard on his fotosaurus page, hopefully he will have it up by next issue.

Mom is done with her Level II cooking classes for Indian Cuisine. Since so many have asked, this is not Native American Cooking, this is learning to cook food from India. And we can't wait until Level III, Dad is lovin it.

Speedbump Turns One
It's hard to believe a year has gone by already. On March 6th, Easy E turned one. He is aleady walking and running around everywhere. In fact, he was climbing up the stairs before he started walking. He has eight teeth now (and they hurt!). He is on the move and the dogs stay their distance. Even though family is afar, we still had a birthday celebration for him with cake (complete with a speedbump!). On March 10th he weighed in at 17lbs 11oz and was 30 1/2 inches long. Yes, he's a stringbean, but the doctor thinks he gets it honestly and has a high metabolism (like his dad and uncles used to have), because he eats non-stop all day. He doesn't stop all day either. He thinks he needs to keep up with his big brothers.
He has also started blowing daddy kisses when he leaves for work. He likes to bring us our shoes when he is ready to go outside and play. He is keeping us ALL busy. Mom finally gave Ethan his first haircut. His new words are: book, night-night, uh-oh, no, mmm-'mm, and he puts his finger up to his mouth and shh.

Stuff

Colby and Noah
Colby and Noah tested for their Tae Kwon Do high yellow belts and recieved them. They are both doing very good and it's impressive to see them sparing.

PLEASE check out the what's new page. Some page changes are minor (such as the addition of one or two pictures) and could be easily overlooked.
Also, we have been adding more and more email addresses to our ever growing list. So if you're new to the site, please see the archive section for complete past editions!!!
We will probably issue every two months or so since Ethan is past most of his milestones. Hopefully we will add a video page next time.
